4kW 24V industrial PSU takes 3∅ input
Called TPS4000-24 “the TPS series can operate automatically from 400, 440, and 480Vac nominal delta or Y inputs, without wiring changes or the need for step-down transformers,” according to the firm, which sees the PSU being used to feed equipment in test and measurement, semiconductor fabrication, additive manufacturing, printing, laser cutting and RF power.
With a typical efficiency of 92%, the device can start up at -40°C, operate at full load in ambient temperatures of -10°C to +50°C, and deliver 55% load at 70°C.
Cooling is provided by a variable speed (to reduce acoustic noise) temperature-controlled fan.
It ha 3kVac input to output isolation, 2kVac input to ground, and 500Vdc output to ground.
Output voltage (19.2 to 28.5V) and over-current limit (70-105%) can be set by:
- front panel potentiometers (sets max for other two)
- choice of built-in PMBus or
- analogue 0-5Vdc voltage
Remote on/off is also programmable via PMBus – there is a 12V 0.3A standby voltage output.
The PMBus also allow remote monitoring of: output voltage, output current, internal temperature, status signals and fan speed.
An internal ORing FET allows parallel operation of up to eight units for redundant or higher power requirements.
Power factor is 0.92 typical at rated load and nominal input voltage.
Excluding the output busbars, the unit measures 107 x 84.4 x 335mm – suiting it to 2U high racking systems. Weight is 4kg.
Safety certification is to IEC/EN/UL 60950-1 (62368-1 pending) and the supply is CE marked to the Low Voltage, EMC and RoHS Directives.
Compliance is to EN55032-A EMI, SEMI F47-0706, IEC 61000-3-2 and IEC 61000-4, and it is designed to meet the MIL‑STD‑461F/G CS101, CS114 (Army Ground), CS115 and CS116 immunity standard.
Warranty is three years.
