Microchip aims to simplify secure IoT product development

- PIC-IoT WA and AVR-IoT WA boards (EV54Y39A)
Two development boards, one for PIC and one for AVR, plus a companion prototyping tool developed with Amazon Web Services (AWS), intended to help designers natively connect IoT sensor nodes to the AWS IoT Core service via Wi-Fi - For gateways running AWS IoT Greengrass (ATSAMA5D27-WLSOM1)
ATSAMA5D27-WLSOM1 integrates a SAMA5D2 MPU and a WILC3000 Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth combo module, fed through a MCP16502 power management IC - SAM-IoT WG (released in Q2 2020)
Connects the Google Cloud IoT Core with Microchip’s 32bit SAM-D21 Arm Cortex-M0+ range of MCUs - Azure IoT SAM MCU based IoT development platform(released in Q2 2020)
Integrates the Azure IoT device SDK (software dev kit) and Azure IoT services with Microchip’s MPLAB X development environment - PIC-BLE and AVR-BLE Bluetooth Low Energy boards
PIC (DT100112) and AVR (DT100111) MCU boards for sensor node devices that connect to mobile devices for industrial, consumer and security applications and the cloud via gateways featuring Bluetooth LE - LTE-M/NB-IoT development kit (released in Q3 2020)
Monarch chip-based modules from Sequans for IoT nodes connecting through low power 5G cellular technology.

Associated development tools include Code Configurator, which automates the creation of initialisation code for the smallest PIC and AVR microcontrollers, as well as Harmony software libraries for 32bit microcontrollers.
On-board and in-circuit programming and debugging comes via PKOB Nano (needing only a USB cable for power, debug and comms), PICkit 4 and ICD 4. ATSAMA5D27-WLSOM 1 comes with a set of free Linux distributions.
End product applications are expected industrial, medical, consumer, agriculture and retail realms.
