Microchip-cloud-agnostic-IoT-501

“From the smallest PIC and AVR MCUs for sensors and actuators, to 32bit MCU and MPU gateways for edge computing, the company is making it possible for developers to connect to any major core and any major cloud – all while maintaining a security foundation through the support of Trust Platform for the CryptoAuthentication family,” claimed Microchip.

There are a number of products:

“Our latest partnerships with Sequans, utilising its 5G technology, and Microsoft Azure, extend our dedication to developing innovative solutions,” said Microchip 8bit marketing v-p Greg Robinson.

Microchip-cloud-agnostic-IoT-422Associated development tools include Code Configurator, which automates the creation of initialisation code for the smallest PIC and AVR microcontrollers, as well as Harmony software libraries for 32bit microcontrollers.

On-board and in-circuit programming and debugging comes via PKOB Nano (needing only a USB cable for power, debug and comms), PICkit 4 and ICD 4. ATSAMA5D27-WLSOM 1 comes with a set of free Linux distributions.

End product applications are expected industrial, medical, consumer, agriculture and retail realms.
